Maxine turns one!

Hi, my name is Laura and I am obsessed with cats.  Yea...I'm kind of a weirdo. :)  I don't have children yet, so my cats are my kids!  Scout is 9 and Maxine just turned one.  She is my baby, so of course I had to attempt a photoshoot for her first birthday!  It took a lot of patience, a lot of treats, a little catnip, and of course many frames (I think I took about 300 and got like 15 good ones!).  She even let me put a hat on her once she calmed down a bit and stopped trying to eat it!  It was a fun game for awhile, but then the interest in treats took over.  We call her Bear Cat, so that's why I had to get that hat!  I even wrote up a stats chalkboard hehe.  Maxine is our little troublemaker, I've known she might give us some grief early on when she ate the paper strip off the back of an envelope at 13 weeks old!  Just last week she got into a glow stick and ate the fluid...thank God it's not toxic!  I threw her in the cat carrier and then turned to Google before running to the vet hospital haha.  But oh, is she sweet.  When I had to put my baby Miko down unexpectedly a year ago, I just prayed to God that my next cat would be as sweet as him and a cuddler.  Talk about a cuddler - this girl likes to be on TOP of me.  No matter what position I'm in, back, front, or even my side, she will find a way to lay on me.  She is also a licker which was new to me...for a few weeks she went through a period where she would wake me up at 4am incessantly licking my face.  Fortunately now she waits until my alarm goes off to wake me up. :)  And she only does it to me, she is a mama's girl!  She helped heal my heart and I just love her so much!  Man, can you imagine what I'll be like when I have kids. ;)  Thanks to my fiance for his assistance with this shoot...Enjoy!

Isn't she pretty?  She is a Maine Coon mix that we adopted from the Marion County Humane Society last summer.  She has the most gorgeous tail! My princess :)

hahaha this one just cracks me up.  poor cat :)
